July 22 Norway, July 22, 2011. A violent attack in two different locations causes the death of 77 people, shocking the country and the rest of the world. Anders Behring Breivik, a self-described right-wing extremist Christian with hatred for Muslims, detonates a bomb at the Prime Minister’s headquarters in Oslo, killing eight people. After that, Breivik dressed in a police uniform, took a ferry to the island of Utoya, outside Oslo, and killed in cold blood teenagers attending a youth camp of the Labor Party. According to local police, 69 people died victims of this second attack.
Paul Greengrass ( Jason Bourne, Captain Phillips ) is in charge of directing this dramatic film based on real events. Greengrass also writes the script with the Norwegian journalist Åsne Seierstad, author of One of us (2015), a book that investigates the massacre perpetrated by Anders Behring Breivik and the motivations that led him to do so.
